Bath Rugby’s Max Clark and Will Homer have been promoted from the Academy to the senior squad for the 2016/17 season.
The duo entered the Senior Academy set-up in the 2014/15 season, joining from two rival Dorset schools (Homer from Sherborne, and Clark from Bryanston).
Will Homer’s debut came in memorable fashion in an LV= Cup match against an experienced Harlequins side in February 2015, during which he kicked 10 points to help his team claim a narrow win at the Stoop. He also impressed when given opportunities at the end of last season. Max Clark, meanwhile, has enjoyed an extended and successful run in Bath’s starting midfield this summer – most recently in the club’s Aviva Premiership victory against Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens and again in the 58-8 win over Newcastle Falcons at home.
“They’re two very impressive young men who’ve come up through the Bath Rugby Academy pathway,” said Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder. “It’s testament to the system we’ve got in place here that they’re able to slot in seamlessly in our first team alongside some very experienced international players. It’s the sort of progress we want to build on here at Bath.”
Tickets are now available for Bath’s next two Premiership games at the Recreation Ground against Worcester Warriors on Saturday 17 September (KO 3pm) and a Friday night fixture against Sale Sharks on 7 October (KO 7.45pm). Go online to buy or call the ticket office on 0844 448 1865.
