Corsham Walking Festival (17 – 19 June) has gone from strength to strength – organisers are now planning for their third festival.
There are 17 walks on offer this year with something for all abilities. For more information on the routes just visit the website, where you can also reserve your spot, (walks sell out so book ahead) and download the festival brochure. On the site you’ll find out more about the history of the event, its sponsors, and even inspirational quotes on the joys of walking!
Many walks start from the new Springfield Campus in Corsham, others from local villages, all are planned to offer insights into the landscape and history of our beautiful countryside. Led by walk leaders, walkers will be accompanied by specialists who offer insights on quarries, canals, Brunel’s railways, geology, wildflowers and more en route; so you can learn as you walk! There’s a ‘Mindfulness’ walk, a free children’s treasure trail, an accessible walk round Corsham’s jewel of a town centre and much more. On Saturday 18 June there will also be a buffet and quiz night so you can get together with your fellow walkers and have some fun. Everyone is warmly invited. The festival will be opened at 12.15pm on Friday 17th June at Springfield Community Campus, Beechfield Road, SN13 9DN.
